The Spurs Roller Coaster

How is it that I can go from super optimistic for the new season, ruined by an extremely poor 90 minutes against Everton to only be completely turned around again by two potentially major signings?

I wrote last on Saturday morning, really optimistic about the season ahead. Some good signings, a proven manager with more time to build his philosophy, and a hungry squad.

On the back of that excitement, I stayed up until 3:30 am on Monday morning, and watched as our team completely wiped away all of those positive feelings in the space of 90 minutes.

Then, I woke up this morning, scrolled through my Twitter feed, and somehow the excitement is back. Gareth Bale coming home? A highly-rated Sergio Reguilon to join? How is that I am already back to feeling very excited again already?!

I've seen us nearly sign Rivaldo, believed it when Fernando Morientes was spotted at Heathrow Burger King, the many years of Leandro Damiao 'on the verge of signing' and most recently Paolo Dybala 'on his way' only for the mysterious issue of image rights to get in the way. Surely I know better by now?

But, alas, here I am. Buzzing at the thought of a brand new left-hand side; a front three of Son - Kane - Bale; and I'm dreaming of us achieving more than just a Carabao Cup win and top 4...

There is a lot to talk about at the moment. And given that we are unable to meet at the pub for the prime time 9 pm kick-off against Southampton this Sunday night, we thought it would be a good idea to set up a video call to have a virtual pint together before the match.

The call will start at 8 pm, but feel free to join at any point - remember to wear your Spurs swag as it would be awesome to get a screenshot of everyone in their colours.

We'll keep the chat going during the game - again, feel free to come or go as you please, mute on or off, up to you. We'll have a half-time briefing followed by hopefully a celebratory beer or two before bed after the match.

We also have the small matter of the Europa League Qualifier on early Friday morning, however, unfortunately, it won't be shown on TV in Australia.

Come on you Spurs!
