It’s finally here – #SpursInSydney Week is upon us! We’re just days away from THFC touching down in Sydney and we are all incredibly excited for the events taking place. The Australia Spurs Committee has worked hard, and we’re very pleased to see such a positive up take in our events and merchandise.
There have been many questions around specific details for the week, and this page, though lengthy, should answer all of those questions. We encourage you to read the whole page before contacting us with any questions.
We are expecting the Tottenham players and entourage to land at Sydney International Airport at approximately 11:15am Thursday morning. With immigration and other processes to go through, we expect to see the team around midday, and OzSpurs will be leading the welcoming party. Bring your scarves, flags and singing voice and let's show Sydney and Tottenham just how many Spurs fans are here.
For those continuing on to the Golf Day, we will be car / taxi pooling to the course.
We want to ‘tee off’ the #SpursInSydney tour in style. We have partnered with the Bondi Golf & Diggers Club for the 2nd ever Australia Spurs Golf Day. Join us for 9 holes of golf, followed by lunch and some beers in the spectacular surrounds of North Bondi.
At just $40 (including lunch) , this is great value and the perfect start to the weekend. Tickets must be pre-purchased, and you can do so here. Golf clubs will be available to rent on the day.
The course is at 5 Military Road, North Bondi. Please be at the course, ready to tee off by 1:30pm.
For those continuing on to Opera Bar, public transport or taxis are recommended. There is limited parking around Circular Quay, and many streets are closed for the VIVD festival.
We'll be heading to Opera Bar from 5pm, the perfect spot to welcome Spurs fans from around the world and around Australia. Have a beer underneath the Opera House, looking over the Harbour at the Harbour Bridge at Sunset, just as the incredible VIVID light show starts to take hold on the Sydney night.
The THFC squad will be climbing the Bridge from 5pm, so they will know we're not far away! Opera Bar is located adjacent to the Opera House. Here is a map.
The plan for the night beyond Opera Bar is not set - we will see where the night takes us.
A big day starts with an early morning trip to Martin Place, in the heart of Sydney, to see Ossie appear on Channel 7's Sunrise program. The set backs onto Martin Place, so bring your Spurs colours and make some noise to ensure the people of Sydney know we're in town.
Ossie will be appearing on the show around 6:30am, so get down there from 6am. Click here for a map of Martin Place.
Thank you to all who've registered their interest in 5-a-side. You will receive an email asking for confirmation of your attendance, along with some more event specific details.
We will be kicking off at ANZ Stadium at 1pm sharp, so we ask you to be there by 12:30pm to allow us to communicate the running order. The competition will be held on the Stadium’s external warm up facility located on Edwin Flack Avenue and adjacent to the Stadium’s western side (Gates J to N).
The recommended train to catch from Central is at 11:40am, changing Lidcombe Station to the Olympic Park Sprint Platform to continue onto ANZ Stadium, arriving at 12:20pm. If you're driving, P1 Car Park will be open and parking available at a rate of $5.00 per hour.
At registration, we asked for your local chapter, and we'll be using that information to sort players into teams for the day. This way, we can plan the format and fixtures and ensure a smooth day with time spent playing football, rather than organising the competition. This information will be available on the day.
The surface is astroturf and boots are prohibited; we recommend wearing running shoes or Futsal boots. There will be no drinks or food provided, so please bring your own water. There are shops in the Olympic Park vicinity, like Subway and McDonald's.
Toilets will be available at the adjoining P1 Parking Station. Please note there will be no change room or shower facilities available.
We understand many people will be bringing younger Spurs fans along, and they are welcome to play, however, please be aware that this event is designed for adults.
We are expecting Open Training to be hugely popular and are looking forward to a fantastic afternoon at ANZ Stadium. Entry to the Stadium will be via Gate K, located on its Western Side, off Edwin Flack Avenue and adjacent to the P1 Car Park. Gates will open at 3:30pm and training will start at 4pm, running for approximately 1 hour.
From 5-5:30pm, the lucky winners of the OzSpurs Golden Ticket competition will be escorted to an area for autographs. If you are yet to enter this competition, it's not too late! Click here for the details. Entries close and the draw will be done at 11am Wednesday 27 May and we will be contacting the winners immediately after the draw.
The training session is FREE and open to all!
If you're driving, P1 Car Park will be open and parking available at a rate of $5.00 per hour.
If you're continuing on to the Ossie Ardiles event, your best option is to catch the train from Olympic Park to Central station (changing at Lidcombe), where we will change to the light rail to the Star Casino. From there, it is a short walk.
We are delighted to be hosting a very special night with Ossie Ardiles, to be held at Doltone House, Pyrmont from 7pm. At just $100, your ticket includes a 4 hour drinks package, canapés, hundreds of Spurs fans and your chance to get up close and personal with a Tottenham legend, at one of Sydney's finest event locations.
Tickets for this event will only be available until 1pm Tuesday 26 May, so don't delay - you don't want to miss this one! Full details and tickets.
Parking is available directly across the road from the venue in the Wilson Car Park. Be sure to get your ticket validated at Doltone House to access the discounted flat rate of $16. Parking is also available at The Star Casino.
Opportunities to bring together Spurs fans from all over the country don't come up like this very often, so we want to capture the moment. And what better place than in front of the world famous Sydney Opera House?
We know it's an early start after a monster Friday night, but dust yourself off and join us at 11am as we congregate on the Opera House steps to be a part of this genuinely historic photo.
Join us at our traditional home, Triple Ace Bar near Central Station, as we build the match day atmosphere. The Aces has been the home of Sydney OzSpurs for more than 10 years now, and the perfect place to start our big day from 2pm. Click here for a map of the Aces.
We expect the Triple Ace to reach capacity, so get there early. If you're unable to get in, there are plenty of pubs around Central Station (5 minutes up the road). We recommend the Royal Exhibition as a good secondary option.
We have designated the 5:09pm train from Central Station to be the OzSpurs Express. This is a direct train to Olympic Park, arriving at 5:45pm. The train following this is at 5:17 and every 8 minutes after that.
Please remember that whilst ANZ Stadium is committed to providing the highest level of service to all guests, Government legislation does not permit intoxicated persons to enter the venue or remain on-site. We thank you in advance for your support in assisting the Stadium in meeting their obligations under their Liquor Licence.
This is what we've all been waiting for! Tottenham Hotspur take on Sydney FC at ANZ Stadium.
We've been working with ANZ Stadium to give Spurs fans the best possible experience, and it kicks off at 6pm at White Hart Lane Bar, a dedicated bar for Spurs fans at the back of the Park Lane end, with the entrance adjacent to Aisle 143 on the Level 1 southern concourse. Join us as the pre-match atmosphere builds, meeting Spurs fans from all over Australia and the world, whilst singing along to classic Spurs songs being played over the PA.
White Hart Lane Bar is inside ANZ Stadium, so your match ticket is required to enter. You will not be allowed to exit the Stadium once you've entered. The bar has a limited capacity, so get there early to ensure you're part of the action.
The Australia Spurs Committee has organised new flags, and we'll be decorating ANZ Stadium before the match. We encourage you to bring your flags and scarves, but please respect ANZ Stadium's regulations and comply with their requests. We want to turn ANZ Stadium lilywhite, so be sure to wear a white Spurs kit!
Remember: All tickets to the Tottenham Hotspur v Sydney FC match at ANZ Stadium include entry and return travel on Sydney Trains services, Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses and regular Sydney Buses (STA) services and Sydney Ferries services. We strongly encourage you to leave the car at home and take advantage of the direct transport services in operation. For further information regarding transport and ANZ Stadium Conditions of Entry, see the ANZ Stadium website.
OzSpurs will not be able to assist anyone, so whilst we want you to enjoy your day, take it easy and ensure you're there for the match.
The match kicks off at 8pm.
Following the match, we will be returning to the Triple Ace for one last night of celebration. The FA Cup will be on the TVs (c'mon Villa!) and we'll be there to celebrate an incredible weekend.
In accordance with their own liquor license, the Triple Ace will refuse entry to any intoxicated persons. Once again, OzSpurs will not be able to assist anyone who is denied entry.
