Trust the Process
The international break has been and gone, and hopefully, has allowed everyone to take a breath after the defeat at Brighton.
While our beloved Spurs stars have been off to represent their countries at international level, here in Australia the work continues for the OzSpurs committee.
Planning for this year’s National is now underway as we look to take over Sydney for the last weekend in May. We are hoping to bring our members some truly memorable experiences, and I strongly urge you if you have never experienced a National event to jump on board, stay tuned for updates!
Our new Merchandise Store (see below) is doing a roaring trade, and the Chapter-specific items have been very popular. If you haven’t had the chance to check out the new shirts, search out your chapter organiser for a closer look, they should be sleeping in their shirts!
On merchandise, you still have time to purchase and be in the running to win one of our exclusive “one of our own” signed Ange shirts! Don’t miss out, entries close 31st Oct.
Also with Christmas fast approaching, the committee has created some super exclusive, limited Christmas gifts and stocking fillers to suit every budget, these will be released as soon as they are on hand, and trust me when I say you won’t want to miss out!
Ticketing applications are at levels we have not seen since the start of OzSpurs, and this level of applications potentially raised an issue in the number of tickets we were successfully allocated for each game. A number of meetings were held with the club to work through a better process to ensure our member's needs were being met. This comes down to the time and effort that JT puts in to make sure as many of you as possible get to go to a game, so if your application is successful, he’s the reason.
On membership, we have again seen a massive uptake in membership packs, with these already selling out. Some of our members were even lucky enough to have their packs hand-delivered by our membership secretary Darren Hind!
Digital membership is still available for just $10, and it really does pay for itself. With discounts on merchandise, drinks discounts at your local chapter venue, National event discounts, along with the ability to apply for overseas match tickets, why wouldn’t you become a member?
As our membership numbers continue to grow, so does the need to offer more locations to watch games and meet up in the early hours to watch and support our beloved Spurs. We now have 12 Chapters across Australia, with the latest addition to the OzSpurs family on the Central Coast. Many of you may already know the new chapter organiser Paf from his previous involvement with OzSpurs as President, we couldn’t put him out for retirement just yet, so we put him straight back to work, creating a new chapter for people on the Central Coast
The Chapter can be found currently at the Wyong Leagues Club with a meet-up planned for the Wet Spam fixture.
We are always on the lookout for more and more locations across Australia to bring our members together, if you feel like you live in an area that could support and accommodate a supporters club, please reach out via email to discuss further.
Our comms people are currently working on an event to allow members from all over Australia to interact with each other. If you are a Proud Perth member, a devoted Darwin Fan, or whatever state you live in, the chance to represent your chapter in the hunt for silverware (and 12 months bragging rights!) may be something that appeals to your competitive nature, again more details as they come
Hopefully when football returns, we see a return to winning ways, so until then, support your local chapter and the businesses that support them.
Even if you can’t make it to a game, head down with family and friends and have a meal or a drink and support the local venues that support us.
On behalf of the committee and Myself, thank you all for your ongoing support, until next time
COYOS
Sean, President
