Welcome new Sydney Chapter Organiser Nathan Pieterse
Hello fellow Sydney Spurs fans! My name is Nathan, and I’m looking forward to stepping into the role of Sydney Chapter Organiser for OzSpurs.
A Grateful Nod to Cameron Whyte
I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to Cameron Whyte who is stepping down from the role. Cam dedicated years of energy and love to this community, and his tireless efforts have left a lasting mark on Sydney OzSpurs. Cam, if you’re reading this, you’re a legend!
Me, Spurs And Finding OzSpurs
My love affair with Tottenham began in mid-2008, while I was living in London. It was at the start of the 08/09 Season, when Harry Redknapp took the reins. I've been lucky enough to be to a handful of matches, both home and away, but I'm yet to visit the new stadium.
In 2010, after I had moved back home to Sydney, I happened to drive past The Surry Hills Hotel (then, Triple Ace Bar) and saw Tottenham Flags in the window. I've been a member ever since.
Two of my favourite matches are of course that night in Amsterdam, and the other is Taxi for Maicon. Most of you older OzSpurs faces will remember me or will have seen me about. For the newer faces, I haven't been around much in recent years due to the sleep deprivation of raising a child. However, you may know me as the guy who does the OzSpurs FPL.
Looking Ahead This Season
We have more games this season being in Europe, and hopefully our Cup runs will also see us celebrating even more together, so be sure to look out for regular posts about upcoming matches. Also, our next OzSpurs National will be in Sydney on the weekend of the 23rd-26th May 2025. This weekend will bring together Spurs fans from all over Australia to watch the last game of the season against Everton. There will be plenty of activities to attend, many beers to be drunk and many stories to share.
If you see me about come and say hello.
